Just got back to Vienna - and I think it was quite a good gig in Bavaria.
The show. Sulpher is unimpressive. Brake. Intro. And the boys are on
stage.
Temple of Love really works as an opener - much better
than as an encore - the large crowd is wild immediately. It was nice to
see the guys I know from the Warsaw videos dancing on their shoulders
right beside me.
The first songs I was right in front the stage but I
had to move back as you could hardly hear the guitars with the Doctor
being much to heavy. In front of the mixing desk sound was very good. Regular setlist. Straight and
confident renditions of the the songs of the main set without
surprises.
Slept was fine and I was surprised to see Chris playing an
acoustic guitar during the song.
Lights were fine. Band in a good mood.
Surprisingly (for me) was Von's position an stage. Chris on the
right side, Adam in the middle and Andrew on the outer left side
during the main set.
And then Flood II. Intro and outro as
long as eternity with Von obviously enjoying to shake his body in the
lights/smoke/mirrors thing and leaving the crowd in ecstasy after the main set. Really impressive and one of the strongest moments of the
show. I had to scream.
I Was Wrong. Although I read everything in here I didn't know that
they made a new song out of it. Really stonking lines. One of the most
enjoyable moments I've had at a Sisters gig within the last 13 years.
No Doktor so one could perfectly hear the brilliant guitars and the bright vice of this funny lead singer.
And very important. I really hope that mister Starling will be allowed
to contribute much more to the Sisters sound and performance.
Sometimes i really feel sorry for him only playing power chords and
not doing anything challenging. Also Never Land (2002) opened new
possibilities for him to escape the power chord prison. And he should
do much more of that kind as the whole thing (even Von himself) would
greatly benefit from it.
Lucretia is really cool but I do still love that (not included) bass line. Not the best performance of Top Nite Out due to silent
guitars (where I stood). Vision Thing a monster.
The whole thing is just impressive. They really are entertainers.
It's hard to be in Vienna and not in Düsseldorf today. Like Monday morning.
Enjoy the shows.

Great! Great! Great!
To my 19th anniversary show in Munich:
more new songs, more extraordinary versions (Anaconda, Flood II),
very good voice, but less audience (second row and place to dance!)
and less smoke (no mirrors!).
