Exxile on Euphoria 2001
February 16 |
When this gig was announced via the
official live news page
on December 15, 2000,
with "probably" attached to it. The venue was suggested as "Docklands"; as of
December 20, publicity was already pointing to Hala CKD as the venue, and had
every information up to ticket price and show start time ready. The official live
news page announcement of the gig lost the "probably" part around December 24,
but if named "Docklands" as the venue up to the end of the tour. By February 19
promoter changed the venue to Sky Club in Prague's Brumlovka, yet the gig still
showed no signs of selling out. It didn't, in the end.
Trainspotters might note that the original name of the initial venue has non-English symbols in its name (the correct spelling can be seen in the flyers; the "C" with that thing on top is pronounced as "CH") and that it is often referred to as Tovarni hala, which can be roughly translated as "Goods Hall". In fact, there is no name for the hall -- Tovarni hala refers more to its purpose, and CKD to the company which used to own it and which gave it the name that stuck. No reviews of the gig surfaced, so you might as well read about the adrenalin-raising events surrounding the first Sisters gig in Prague back in 1998. Thanks to Jiri Brabec for some of the information. Flyers scanned by David "Komisar" Hlavacek. Support act: Paradise Lost. |
